Hive Happenings

10th October 2017

Exciting times here at Hive HQ… Our new Hive Camera has launched and is proving a big hit, we’ve created the perfect plan for keeping an eye on your home and we’ve put the finishing touches to our Apple Watch app, making it even easier to control your Hive Home on the go.

So much more than a camera

How many cameras have you seen that can stream live HD footage to you anywhere in the world, record in the dark, send alerts if they sense something’s wrong and let you talk through them?! None? Well prepare to have your eyes opened.

Our Hive camera lets you quickly and easily check up on your home via a live stream on your app. With the camera’s two-way audio you can talk to anyone there too – even your pets (don’t worry, we won’t tell). You can also use its in-built motion and audio sensors to alert you to anything suspicious.

It’s so much more than a camera and it’s available to buy here.

Part of our Home Check Plan

If you’re interested in our Hive Camera, it’s worth taking a look at our Home Check plan. It gives you the Hive Camera plus everything else you need to keep your home safe while you’re away, like Hive Window or Door sensors and Hive Active Lights.

Our Hive App for Apple Watch is here

Our new Hive app for Apple Watch is all about making your life quicker and easier: with one simple, scrollable screen it enables you to do all your essentials in literally a couple of seconds.

The best apps for Apple Watch don’t have masses of functionality – they’re just really good at helping you to do the things you need day in, day out. So that’s how we’ve made ours.

Boost your heating – see your home’s current temperature on screen, and with a tap you can boost your heating and turn on quick cool or quick heat to a target level.

Boost your hot water –  if you’re out for a run, just boost your hot water when you’re nearly home with just a single tap, without even having to stop.

Turn your lights on – if your phone’s buried in your bag, simply tap your phone to turn on your lights. For a nice welcome home after a hard day’s work.

Turn your plugs off – if you’ve rushed out and you’re worried you’ve left things on, one tap of the app can turn each of your Hive Active plugs off.

Of course, there’s loads more to your Hive smart home – you can create actions with sensors, set programs, manage the warmth of your lighting and more. And you can do all of these things on our main Hive app.

As always, remember to leave a comment below if you have any questions or suggestions.
