Is your Hive home ready for winter?
Don't get caught out when the cold weather comes. Here's what you can do to stay cosy this winter.
Check your Hive tech is online
Check your devices are in the right place
Your Hive Hub has a range of around 10 metres in every direction. This distance is reduced by physical barriers, like thick walls, along with electronic interference, such as from your TV or radio. So think carefully about where you place your hub, thermostat and other Hive tech (such as Hive Lights and Hive Plugs).

Hive Hint: If moving your device doesn’t help, you can use Hive Plugs and Lights as signal boosters to increase your range.
Check your boiler is working
Do our super-simple boiler check to make sure everything's OK.
- On a cool evening, turn your thermostat up to 30°C
- Set your radiator valves to max and wait for half an hour
- Check your boiler’s on and all your radiators are hot
Hive Hint: Are your radiators making strange noises, or not heating evenly? Don’t panic, they may just need to be bled. Check out this simple step-by-step guide from our friends at British Gas.
