Frequently asked questions

What if I move house?
No problem. If you sell your home, the solar system (which you own) is part of the property, just like a boiler or any other fixture. Any remaining payments can either be paid off as part of the sale or transferred to the new homeowner. Subject to acceptance.
Is this a roof lease?
No - and that’s important. With a roof lease, you don’t own the panels and might be limited on what you use or export. With Sunsave Plus, you legally own the system from day one, and you're free to choose the export tariff that works best for you.
What are the eligibility requirements?
To be eligible for Sunsave Plus, you need to be:
  • aged 18–65
  • a UK resident
  • an owner of the property where you want to install
  • able to afford the regular repayments (which Sunsave assess with a soft credit check)
Two people can make a joint application for Sunsave Plus, as long as at least one of them meets the criteria above. The second applicant can be a friend or family, and doesn’t need to live at the property.

1. Representative example: 240 monthly instalments of £69. 8.9% representative APR. Based on a loan of £7,898 at a fixed interest rate of 5.9% per year. Each instalment consists of £56 loan repayment plus £13 monitoring and maintenance fee. Total amount repayable: £16,560 (includes £5,617 interest and £3,046 monitoring and maintenance fee). 2. Receive first two months of solar completely free. Offer runs 12/01/2026 - 09/02/2026. Within 30 days of your installation being completed and your Direct Debit set up, Sunsave will reimburse the first two months of your Sunsave Plus monthly payments by bank transfer. For example, if your first monthly payment is £80, they'll send you £160. You’ll still make all Sunsave Plus monthly payments. unsave Plus eligibility is subject to status.
