              What does the Hive Hub do?

              The Hive Hub is the heart of your Hive smart home. It connects your devices to the internet, allowing you to control them remotely.

              Why do I need a Hive Hub?

              The Hive Hub connects your Hive devices to the Hive app using broadband. If the Hive Hub is not connected to your Hive devices you won't be able to control them remotely via the Hive app. If it’s not paired with a Hive Hub, Hive Active Heating will only work in standalone mode (offline control).
              Hive View and Hive View Outdoor don't require a Hive Hub as their functions differ from all other Hive products.

              Can the Hive Hub use a wireless connection to connect to the internet?

              We recommend setting up the hub using an Ethernet connection. Once the setup is complete, you can remove the cable and connect the hub wirelessly to your home router via Wi-Fi. This ensures that your hub can be placed in an optimal location for good coverage, preventing any signal issues between your Hive Hub and Hive devices.

              Can I connect non Hive devices to the Hive Hub?

              Only Hive devices can be paired with the Hive Hub.

              Do I need a new hub for additional Hive products if I already have one?

              No, you can set up your Hive products on your existing hub.

              Does this product work with voice control?

              Yes, this Hive product can be used with voice control such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit and Siri Shortcuts.

              What devices can I get the Hive app on?

              You can get the Hive app on many smartphones, tablets and the Apple Watch. iOS or Android devices must be running an up-to-date operating system.

              What are your delivery options?

              Free standard delivery is included when spending over £100 (3 - 5 business days).

              Can I return this product?

              Yes.
              If you’ve purchased Hive products directly through our website or over the phone, you’ll need to contact us within 14 days (starting from the day you receive your Hive products).
              If a British Gas engineer has installed your Hive products and you’d like to return them, you’ll need to let us know within 14 days from the point of installation.
              You can contact us on web chat and we’ll provide you with a returns number and send you a returns label. Print the label out and send it to our warehouse, free of charge. Once we receive your product, we’ll aim to process your refund within 5 working days.

              What's the warranty period?

              Hive products come with a 1-year standard warranty.
              If you want to increase your warranty, you can join Hive+ and get ongoing warranty on all your Hive devices.
