Get Hive EV Charging

Buy your Hive EV charger and get it installed to start enjoying smart, convenient home charging.

Join any British Gas tariff

Choose any British Gas electricity tariff and pair it with your charger in the Hive app. You’ll need a working smart meter too.

Switch on FreeCharge

As a new customer, you’ll get 12 months’ FREE charging with FreeCharge. It works the same way as SmartCharge, but we’ll credit back 100% of your charging costs instead.

Frequently asked questions

I’m an installer and I would like to install Hive compatible devices – is there any more information on what I need to do?
Hive are setting up a network for certified installers to install – and be rewarded – for installing Hive compatible equipment. Please visit our Installers Network page for more info!
Will Hive install my product?
Hive work with several referral providers to install devices. These independent installers know the range of products that work with Hive and will recommend what’s right for you. They will link you to the Hive platform, so you are ready to go. Please visit our EV, Solar or Heat Pump pages for more information. Please note that Hive does not install the products directly and is not responsible for the services provided by these third-party installers.
What is a certified Smart device?
A certified smart device is one that has been integrated with the Hive software platform to check that it works seamlessly. For third party devices, Hive does not cover any warranty or installation issues. We do, however, cover our own devices.
Can I still use the native app for my device?
The Hive app will provide you with a one stop shop to view your whole energy usage in a simple and transparent way. We have worked with the manufacturers of certified Smart Devices so that you can still use your native mobile app alongside the Hive App.
Do I have to be a Hive Plus subscriber to use the Hive app?
No, you don’t have to be a Hive Plus subscriber to use the Hive App with associated devices.
Does my device Work with Hive?
We are working directly with manufacturers to ensure that their most popular devices are compatible with Hive. For a full list of compatible devices and what functionality will be available in the Hive App please visit this FAQ for more information.
How do I connect my product to Hive?
If you are having a compatible device installed by one of our referral providers, your installer will connect your device to Hive. If you have a device installed already, please follow the steps above for your manufacturer. Please note that Hive itself does not install the products and is not responsible for the services provided by these third-party installers.
How do I download the Hive app?
The Hive App can be downloaded from the Apple and Google Play store.
