Do Hive Radiator Valves require Hive Active Heating to work?
No. Hive Radiator Valves and Hive’s thermostats work well together, but you can use Hive Radiator Valves without a Hive thermostat. You can even use Hive Radiator Valves in homes with no central thermostat.
All you need are radiators with compatible valves, plus a Hive Hub to link your Radiator Valves (TRV) to the Hive app. You can read more about compatible valves here.
You’ll get the best out of Hive Radiator Valves if you also have a Hive thermostat. This way your Radiator Valves (TRV) will be able to tell your thermostat when they need heat. Without a Hive thermostat, your Radiator Valves (TRV) won’t be able to override your current thermostat settings and will only get heat when your heating is on.
